On the north end, the trail connects to Heritage Trail in Gilbert and runs to north Mesa.

The San Marcos Golf Course is located south west of at Arizona Avenue and Chandler Blvd. This is where it all started for Arizona. This 18-hole, 6,626-yard course opened in 1913 and was seeded with Bermuda grass shortly thereafter, making it the first golf course in Arizona with grass greens.
